Takeaways:

  1. You are a better mom when you take the time to do something for yourself. When you follow your passion, you are happier and more present when you are with the kids.
  2. When you start your day with a morning routine it sets the tone for the whole day. Kids would also greatly benefit from a routine, even if it consists of the simplest things.
  3. When it comes to household chores, use a white board where kids can check things off, it gives them a sense of accomplishment. Every week sit around the table and create a list of chores together so that everyone knows their responsibilities.
  4. Kids watch us and see how we do things and that becomes their normal. They learn from us, yet at the same time they are also being themselves.
  5. Teach kids to stand by their decision, to know why they made it and to not regret it.
  6. You cannot protect your children from everything, they will have their own lessons to learn in this lifetime. Give them a good foundation, good moral values and have faith in them! Stop blaming yourself, thinking you could have done things better.  Kids are resilient, they will be alright!
